We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to develop and lead Caritas Southwark, overseeing its mission to support vulnerable communities and advocate for social change. This role will be pivotal in shaping the future of Caritas and ensuring its effectiveness, sustainability, and alignment with Catholic social teaching.
The Role
- As Director of Caritas Southwark, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership, ensuring Caritas initiatives meet the evolving needs of communities across the Archdiocese.
- Champion Catholic social teaching through advocacy, outreach, and partnerships with parishes, schools, and external organisations.
- Develop and expand programmes that address social justice issues, including poverty alleviation, refugee support, and pastoral care.
- Drive fundraising efforts, securing vital resources for Caritas to continue its impactful work.
- Lead and inspire staff and volunteers, fostering collaboration and ensuring a positive, mission-driven culture.
- Represent Caritas Southwark at local, national, and diocesan forums, advocating for those in need.
About you
- To excel in this role, you will:
- Be an influential leader with experience in senior management within a charity, faith-based organisation, or social justice field.
- Have strong strategic and financial management skills, ensuring sustainability and growth.
- Be a passionate advocate for social change, able to engage stakeholders and drive forward new initiatives.
- Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring and building relationships with a diverse range of people.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to Catholic social teaching and its application.
