Archbishop John delivers reflections on the Eucharist at Word on Fire
At the Word on Fire conference in London, Archbishop John delivered reflections on the Eucharist during adoration

Bishop Robert Barron’s Word on Fire held a conference in London Evangelisation and Culture, with over 1,500 people attending.
Concluding the conference, Archbishop John delivered a series of reflections during Eucharistic adoration. The Archbishop of Southwark said “the Church draws her life from the Eucharist” and it is in the Eucharist which we meet:
“In a real and substantial way, the entire mystery of our redemption. Christ’s Passion, Death and Resurrection made present for us”.
As the packed conference hall gathered before the truly present Lord Jesus, Archbishop John encouraged people to ask the Lord Jesus to transform our hearts and our minds so that we may “live and love like Him”.
The Eucharist, Archbishop John said, is “the gift of the Lord Jesus to His Bride, the Church”.
Archbishop John reminded those gathered of the love of the Christ and why the Eucharist is a reminder of this great love. Archbishop John said:
“He loves us. He gives Himself to us. He does not love us just with words.
He loves us with His Body and His Blood. He loves us. He loves you with a love that holds nothing back. He loves with a love that will never let you go. He loves you with a love to be shared generously with others”.
In a stirring moment, the Archbishop then encouraged people to “let go of anything that stops” people from “appreciating and receiving” the love of the Lord Jesus.
In 2025, Archbishop John is encouraging people to make Eucharistic adoration a part of their prayer life so they can draw closer to the Lord Jesus and deepen their love of Him. You can find out more at rcaos.org.uk/hopeinadoration
