Ecumenical pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi led by Bishop Paul Hendricks
Join Bishop Paul Hendricks, Canon Michael Branch and Anglican Bishop Christopher Chessun on this joyful pilgrimage

Join us for an 8-day Ecumenical pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi in 2026. The pilgrimage is for the Archdiocese of Southwark and the Anglican Diocese of Southwark.
It will be led by Bishop Paul Hendricks, the Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Southwark, Canon Michael Branch, Dean of St George’s Cathedral, along with Bishop Christopher Chessun, the Bishop of Southwark and The Very Revd Mark Oakley, Dean of Southwark Cathedral.
Inviting people to join the pilgrimage, Canon Michael said:
“Together, we will journey prayerfully through beautiful cities as we seek to encounter the Lord Jesus through the Saints whose lives have been transformed by our Lord.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the lives some of the great Saints of our faith, including St Peter, St Paul and St Francis of Assisi, and I hope many of you can join us on this wonderful opportunity to foster fraternity with our fellow Christian’s as Pilgrims of Hope.”
Departing from London on 2 March 2026, the pilgrimage begins in Rome with four nights in the Eternal City, and a focus on the city’s patron saints, Peter and Paul. A comprehensive programme of sightseeing is included, featuring the major sites of ancient and imperial Rome.
The pilgrimage then heads north with three nights in the medieval walled city of Assisi, home of St Francis, set amidst the peace and tranquillity of the Umbrian countryside. The bustle of Rome is contrasted with the peace of Assisi where visits include the famous Basilica of St Francis, the church of St Clare, Santa Maria degli Angeli and other pilgrimage sites in and around the town.
We will be traveling with McCabe and they are offering a special discounted deposit of £200 per person until Monday 15th September.
