Mass of thanksgiving for the Romero Trust and the Oscar Romero Award Trust
Archbishop John Wilson celebrated a Mass of thanksgiving for a special double anniversary for the Archbishop Romero Trust and the Oscar Romero Award Trust.
In his homily, Archbishop John drew on the words of St Oscar Romero about the Eucharist, which the martyred saint said "is the presence of the merciful love which in Christ, redeems the world".
Archbishop John thanked the Archbishop Romero Trust and the Oscar Romero Award Trust for working tirelessly to promote the life and work of St Oscar Romero. Both Trusts, Archbishop John said, "have sought to keep alive the radiant witness of a man whose entire life was shaped by his faith in Christ".

At the end of Mass, Archbishop John awarded Julian Filochowski and Clare Dixon from the Romero Trust, and Mugeni Sumba from the Oscar Romero Award Trust, the Archbishop's Medal in recognition of their work promoting the life and work of St Oscar Romero.
The Archbishop Romero Trust is marking 20 years working, through liturgies and education, to embed the ministry and martyrdom of St Oscar Romero in the life of the Church in Britain. The Oscar Romero Award Trust celebrates 10 years promoting Catholic Social Teaching in Catholic schools and colleges across Britain under the banner and inspiration of St Oscar Romero.
