Annual Rally for Altar Servers
The annual rally for Southwark Altar Servers will take place on May Day Bank Holiday (Monday 1st May 2023) at The Friars, Aylesford Priory, Kent. Bishop Paul Hendricks will be the principal celebrant, and clergy are invited to concelebrate.
Servers will be enrolled into the Guild of St Stephen and those already in the Guild may renew their promises. Those who have offered long service to their parish may also be awarded a special medal on the day.
The annual rally gives the servers a great opportunity to collectively acknowledge and celebrate the special Ministry of Service of Altar Servers in the Church. Furthermore, the gathering encourages servers to socialise with other servers and share and renew their faith, so helping to build God's kingdom.
