Aid to the Church in Need is seeking to ‘Break the Silence’ on the persecution and suffering of Christians around the world on 23rd November, when it will be holding #RedWednesday.

In countries where they face discrimination, Christians sometimes feel that their pleas for help go unheard in the West. #RedWednesday is our chance, through Aid to the Church in Need, for Christians to be seen and heard.

The charity has helpfully released a poster that outlines events in London and a Zoom gathering for people in Scotland (other opportunities are listed online) and ways in which you can help, including

  • increasing awareness of what persecuted Christians face
  • praying for persecuted Christians
  • engaging in a fundraising event, such as a bake sale, or making a financial gift.
  • Use the hashtag #RedWednesday if you are supporting them with posts on social media

Please join Aid to the Church once again this year by wearing and using red – the colour of martyrdom – and by signing the #RedWednesday Petition calling for justice for Christians in Nigeria who are facing violent attacks.
