Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem Investiture Mass
Archbishop Wilson will preside at an Investiture Service and Holy Mass in St George's Cathedral on Saturday 22nd July 2024.
The colourful procession prior to the Mass will commence at 10.05 am, with the Mass itself beginning at 10.15 am. New members of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem will be invested during the service.
The roots of the order date back to just after the First Crusade in 1095, when a tradition of ceremonially appointing Knights at the Holy Sepulchre developed. In contemporary times, the Order is committed to supporting the Church and Christian people across the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem. Archbishop John Wilson KC*HS is the Grand Prior of the Lieutenancy of England and Wales, which is led by HE Michael Byrne KGCHS.
All are welcome at the Investiture Mass in person or online. Guests are asked to be seated by 9.45 am in the Cathedral.
