Mothers Prayers Retreat Day
Mothers Prayers of the Solace Community was founded in 1995 in the UK and has since spread worldwide to over 120 countries, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Our mother house is based near Sevenoaks in the heart of the Southwark Diocese.
The mission is to enable groups of women to come together to pray for their children and grandchildren and all children of the world. Groups are small, typically between 2 -8 women and can be held in a home, church or school setting. They are open to women from all denominations.
Each group follows the format of prayer laid down in the Mothers Prayers booklet. These simple but deeply profound prayers are intended to help those in prayer realise God's abounding love for each individual, and for their children. The names of the children are placed in a basket at the foot of the cross as a symbol of surrendering them into the care of Jesus, accepting that He knows what is best for them.
Mothers Prayers are encouraged in their mission by the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity and the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life.
On Saturday 24th June, between 10 am - 4 pm, a Mothers Prayers Day will be held at Star House (near Sevenoaks)
All women who have a heart to pray for children are invited to join together for a day of prayer, spiritual refreshment, and fellowship. The organisers hope that old friends and new will have the opportunity to come together to pray, relax, celebrate God’s wonderful love and be refreshed and encouraged in their walk with Him.
There is no charge. Please bring a picnic lunch.
