St George's Cathedral 175th Anniversary Concert
St George's Cathedral, the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Southwark, is celebrating the 175th Anniversary of its opening this year. To mark this auspicious anniversary, a number of services and events will be taking place throughout the year
175th Anniversary Concert
On Friday 3 November at 7.30 pm, the combined Cathedral Choirs of St George's present an evening of choral music to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the Cathedral.
The concert will map the history of the Cathedral in music, with singing interspersed with historical reflections from Joanna Bogle.
Repertoire will include well-known favourites by William Byrd and Anton Bruckner, music by the Cathedral's first Director of Music, Meyer Lutz, and The Wisdom of Christ, by Frederick Stocken, which was commissioned by the Cathedral for this anniversary year.
Entrance is free and the concert will last around an hour.
