Archbishop Wilson's condolences for the late Bishop of Woolwich
Learning of the death of The Rt Revd Dr Karowei Dorgu, Bishop of Woolwich, last Friday, Archbishop John wrote to Bishop Christopher Chessun, Bishop of Southwark in the Church of England, to express the condolences and prayers of the people of the Archdiocese of Southwark. In that letter, Archbishop John noted how,
“Karowei’s devoted service to the Woolwich Area of the Diocese of Southwark has left an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His leadership and compassion were a source of inspiration to many, and his absence will be deeply felt not only within the Diocese of Southwark but throughout the wider Christian community here in South London.
“As we remember and mourn Karowei, let our prayer be that he will rest in the loving embrace of his Saviour and ours, the Lord Jesus. Karowei’s legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all of us who knew him as we continue together in our shared Christian journey of discipleship and witness.”
May the late Bishop rest in peace, and rise in glory.
