Fr Marcus Holden appointed Rector of Pontifical Beda College

Father Marcus Holden has been appointed as the next Rector of the Pontifical Beda College in Rome

Fr Marcus, the Episcopal Vicar for Evangelisation and Catechesis and Dean of Lambeth, has been appointed as the next Rector of the Pontifical Beda College in Rome.

Pontifical Beda College is a seminary in Rome for the formation of mature candidates aged thirty years old or more, while the candidates are mostly from England and Wales, there are some from around the world too.

Writing about his time as a parish priest at St Bede's in Clapham, Fr Marcus said:

"The years at St Bede’s have been very blessed and fruitful and it will be hard to leave. I have been very happy in such a wonderful and vibrant parish".

Fr Marcus added: "the years of insight as parish priest will be a particular and constant reference point for me in training other men to be good and holy priests for the future".

Fr Marcus was appointed as Rector by the Holy See at the request of the Bishops of England and Wales.
