Frazer Bellfield ordained as a priest

Archbishop John ordained Frazer Bellfield at St George’s Cathedral

Frazer Bellfield was ordained as a priest by Archbishop John Wilson at St George’s Cathedral on 20 July.

The Cathedral was full with family, friends clergy, consecrated men and women, and well wishers as people gathered to celebrate and share the special moment with Frazer.

In his homily, Archbishop John gave advice to Frazer on his vocation stating that in the “imitation of Christ”, Frazer is to “lay down your life, to give of yourself generously, to remain in the Lord’s love so that you can be his love for others”.

The Archbishop said central to the priesthood is the Eucharist and encouraged Frazer to “befriend the Lord Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament”. Archbishop John said:

“If, at times, you struggle or are overburdened, place yourself before our Eucharistic Lord. He waits for you to abide in him. Attune yourself to his Eucharistic heartbeat. Open your heart to the Lord, and let him love and heal you”.

The joyous celebration culminated in Father Frazer blessing hundreds of people, who waited patiently for a blessing from the newly ordained priest.

Father Frazer will be an assistant parish priest in Blackheath. Please pray for Father Frazer as he embarks on the start of his life in the priesthood.
