On 27th September 2023, Archbishop John Wilson, led the Archdiocese of Southwark annual service for those who have been harmed by abuse.
It was a powerful service, with lots of people there to show their solidarity and commitment to supporting those who have suffered.
After the service, messages of support for those who have been harmed by abuse, along with ribbons, were tied onto the LOUDFence. These messages came from Rome, Australia and Spain, as well as from around the UK. The LOUDFence remains on display within St George’s Cathedral as a show of our ongoing commitment of support.
The Archdiocese of Southwark is committed to ensuring all parishes are safe spaces, especially for the most vulnerable.
