St George's Cathedral 175th Anniversary: The Legacy of Pope St John Paul II

Window in Memorial of the visit of Pope St John Paul II

St George's Cathedral is honoured to welcome H.E. Piotr Wilczek, Ambassador of Poland to the Court of St James’s, who will offer an address on the legacy of Pope St John Paul II on Thursday 6th July 2023 at 6.30 pm in Amigo Hall, next to St George's Cathedral.

One of the key events in the 175-year history of St George's Cathedral was the late pontiff's visit on 28 May 1982 - an episode commemorated in the Cathedral's memorial window, seen above - and the Ambassador's lecture constitutes an opportunity to grow in knowledge and appreciation of the legacy of this world-changing saint.

All are welcome.
