Successful youth day in Kent
Around 90 10-14 year olds gathered at St. John Fisher Catholic School, Chatham for a joyful and grace-filled Youth Day.

The central theme of the day was the Mass, and we started with a powerful talk from Fr Peter Stoddart, a chaplain in the Royal Navy. Fr. Peter shared the story of his call to the priesthood, and how the Holy Mass is central to everything he does, even amid his duties at sea! His witness encouraged the young people to reflect on the centrality and beauty of the Mass.
The young people also enjoyed a lively mix of icebreakers, sports, crafts, and plenty of pizza. A popular Question Box, answered by the clergy, allowed them to ask honest and thoughtful questions about Catholic teaching, spiritual life, and personal challenges.
A particularly moving part of the day was the guided Eucharistic Adoration, where the young people were invited into silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, opening their hearts to Christ.
The day, which was a time to grow in faith, friendship and love of of our Lord Jesus Christ, reached its summit with the celebration of Holy Mass. Fr. Stephen Boyle preached a stirring homily encouraging and challenging the young people to embrace their Catholic faith.
These youth days are an ideal way for children to grow in their knowledge and love of Christ, to build friendships with each other and to feel part of the wider Church.
