Young Adults group at St George's continues to thrive

Worship, praise and other activities have led to a thriving Young Adults group at St George's Cathedral

The Southwark Catholic Youth Service's monthly Young Adult Masses have continued this year, drawing large numbers of young adults each month. These take place at 6 PM on the first Sunday of the month at St. George’s Cathedral.

The monthly services have welcomed priests such as Fr. Dominic Allain, Fr Philip Andrews, Fr Gerard Bradley, Fr. Marcus Holden who have celebrated Mass beautifully and shared inspiring homilies. Each Mass is followed by a lively social.

In addition to Mass, our Young Adult Talk Series has continued this term with the theme: Praying with the Saints. Each Thursday, the Young Adults group gathers for talks by inspiring speakers, including:

  • Sr. Carino OP (Dominican Sisters of St. Joseph)

  • Fr. John Idris on St. Thérèse

  • Fr. Emmanuel Mansford CFR on charismatic prayer

  • Fr. Mark Wharton on Lectio Divina

There have also been beautiful evenings of praise and Eucharistic Adoration, followed by trips to the pub! The social events have included everything from salsa and ballroom dancing to informal gatherings.
